I feel there is no other daring act of bravery and courage comparable to what Nihang Baba Maghar Singh does when he comes standing on two horses running at full speed with one hand in mid air at the Kila Raipur Rural Olympics.

Shot from my Tanjore Trip. Found this group of people near the tree behind the Shrine of Karuvurar, in Bragatheeswarar (Peruvudaiyar) Temple, trying to spot something on it. They told me that they were trying to spot the lizards (Urosaurus ornatus aka Tree Lizards I guess - do correct me if I am wrong) on the tree. Local legend has it that if you pray/wish for something, come to the tree and spot one or more lizard(s) (maraballi in Tamil) your wish will be granted, on the other hand if your wish is unattainable it is believed that you will not see a lizard even if you stand on your head.
Today is Women's Day.
On this day l would like to say some words of the role of women.
It could be your mom, who patiently changed your nappies and comforted you during tough times.
It could be your wife-cum-superwoman, who's getting promotion after promotion. And yet she finds the time to take care of your kids the way only she can.
Or maybe it's your boss, who can juggle 10 tasks simultaneously, and yet come up with the brightest ideas while you are feeling down and out.
Or may be your friend, who always helps you to come out of your difficulties and with whom you giggles and share most of your problems.
So let s tribute this special day for them by wishing them " Happy Women's Day ".

The Sunni Muslims follow their own Pirs. They give contributions to the Tomb of a Jath woman, 'Mai'. Even if they are Muslims, they believe in Shakti puja.
The Fakirni Jaths believe in Savla Pir, as do Muslim and Hindu nomads of western Kutch, whose tomb is on a mud island in a creek off Koteshwar in Lakhpat.
Garasia Jaths believe in a woman saint, Mai Bhambi, and a monument is dedicated to her at Sumrasar where they gather annually at a fair. They believe that embroidery is a sacred gift from their ancestor, Mai Bamba. So, when their garments wear out, they hang these in bushes or bamboos to return to nature. These antique embroideries provide an insight into old forgotten patterns.
This photograph is dedicated to all the wonderful women of the world to commemorate "Women's Day". Happy Womans Day.
We met this beautiful woman along the drive on Sunday. I was enamoured by how she was walking briskly with two handbags on either hand, and a load of food on her head perfectly balanced. This apart I also gave her another job, which was to pose for me, which she readily did.
As soon as I clicked a few shots, and said "thank you", she went on her way, without wasting a moment. She was a truly a woman of substance. Hats off to her.
I love that her face was being lit by the early morning sun, shining directly on her.
